Why is IQA an important next step for assessors?

Writer's picture: A2A Training A2A Training

At A2A Training we know how vital the IQA qualification (internal quality assurance) is in the world of education and assessing in particular. Becoming a qualified IQA can open more opportunities and is certainly an excellent enhancement to a CV when applying for educational based roles.

Becoming an IQA can make you a better assessor or tutor. It will develop your understanding of the processes and procedures required at the next level and open your eyes up to the trends and mistakes assessors make so that you can prevent them in your own work as an assessor.

Internal quality assurance is essential within educational settings and quality and compliance are key to any educational institution looking at successful outcomes from Ofsted, Ofqual or awarding organisations.

Some assessing only roles require assessors to hold their IQA qualification too, such as end point assessment for many of the apprenticeship standards. So, if end point assessing is something you are interested in, the IQA qualification will certainly support any applications you make for these roles too.

We offer courses in CAVA (assessing qualification), IQA (internal quality assurance), EPA (end point assessment) and many more, all certified by one of the country's leading awarding organisations, Highfield.
