Highfield Level 3 Award in Education and Training
We offer the Highfield L3 Award in Education and Training as an online, distance learning package. When working in higher education, a basic teaching qualification is seen as essential and supports you in roles such as apprenticeship tutoring or teaching NVQ and BTEC qualifications. It is the preferred qualification for those new to teaching or looking for CPD. This is the new version of the PTLLS course and is equivalent.
We offer full tutor support throughout the course and give you 12 months to complete but some learners complete in as little as a few weeks.
The Highfield Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) has been designed to provide an introduction to teaching for individuals who would like to work or currently work within FE Colleges, Independent Training Providers and/or Local Authorities.
It can meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers, such as:
• Individuals not currently teaching or training – achievement of the qualification does not require practice other than microteaching, unless units from the Learning and Development suite of qualifications are selected.
• Individuals currently teaching and training, including those new to the profession – although the qualification does not require practice (see explanation above), opportunities may be made available to observe and provide feedback on a trainee teacher’s practice; and
• Individuals currently working as assessors, who wish to achieve a qualification that provides an introduction to teaching. The objective of the qualification is to support a role in the workplace and prepare learners to progress to a qualification in the same subject area but at a higher level.
The qualification is supported by the Education and Training Foundation.
In order to complete this qualification, learners are required to:
• Be a minimum of 19 years of age.
3 units to be completed:
Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training.
Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training.
Understanding assessment in education and training.
There are assignments for each unit, and these can be completed in ways to suit your learning style and way of working. You will need to complete a micro-teach session which is observed and recorded, as well as a self-evaluation. If you are already teaching, we can use 'real life' evidence instead.
Adapting our teaching to your learning style
We aim to be as supportive as possible to help you achieve your qualification. This means we can use a range of methods to support you in gathering evidence for meeting the requirements including:
Work based product evidence (so work you are already doing or have done)
Short, written assignments
Professional discussion, where you plan responses, and these are then recorded on voice/video.
Q&A voice recorded, simple and time efficient way of demonstrating knowledge and understanding.
Online meeting dates to suit your needs.
Friendly, professional support, teaching and guidance
We offer competitive course fees and excellent support. 100% of our learners would recommend us!
